Projection:
Earths spherical shape causes distortion when drawing it on a flat piece of paper.

4 types of distortion
- shapes and area can be distorted
- distance between points
- areas relative size may be altered
- direction can be distorted

Geographic grid: 
The grid is a system of imaginary areas drawn in a grid pattern on Earths surface.

Meridians- Longitude
Parallels- Latitude

Telling Time:
Earth as a sphere is divided into 360 degrees of longitude.
