How Do Geographers Describe Where Things Are?

  • Geography is the study where things are found on Earth's surface and the reasons for the locations.
  • Human geographers ask two simple questions...
1. Where are people and activities found on Earth?

2. Why are they found there?

Why is each point on Earth unique?

  • Each point has different cultures and land types.
  • Nothing on Earth has the same features therefore it is unique in its own way.
Why are different places on Earth similar?
  • Different places on Earth are similar due to globalization because people start something on an international scale spreading it around the world.
Why are some human interactions not sustainable?
  • Some human interactions cannot be sustained because we use some resources like coal and gas at a pace much faster than it can be renewed meaning its not sustainable.
